The Retina Fellows Forum® was the first program created just for fellows and is the longest-running retina fellows educational meeting in the world. Join us for the 27th Annual Retina Fellows Forum and add your name to the list of over 1,850 alumni of this unforgettable experience!

North American vitreoretinal fellows who will complete their final year of training in a two-year surgical retina training program in 2027 are invited to spend a weekend with world-class faculty who dedicate their time to teach, mentor, and socialize with the graduating vitreoretinal class of 2027.

Meeting registration fees, meeting meals, and shared lodging will be covered and each attendee will be reimbursed up to $500 in travel expenses (ground and air). To guarantee a spot, register by January 7, 2027. After January 7, 2027, new registrants will be accepted based on availability.

The Retina Fellows Forum® provides an opportunity for senior surgical retina fellows to gather in a collegial environment to discuss medical and surgical issues, practice management, and career issues in an open and friendly atmosphere. A combination of interactive case presentations, and panel discussions facilitate active participation between course faculty and fellows. The organizers and other members of the faculty are comprised of members of the American Society of Retina Specialists (ASRS).

This year’s Distinguished Guest Speaker is Carl D. Regillo, MD, FASRS. Dr. Carl D. Regillo is a Professor of Ophthalmology at Thomas Jefferson University and the former Director of the Retina Service of Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia. He received his medical degree from Harvard Medical School and performed both his ophthalmology residency and vitreoretinal fellowship at Wills Eye Hospital. He is the founder and former Director of the Wills Eye Clinical Retina Research Unit, former Chairman of the American Academy of Ophthalmology Retina Basic and Clinical Science Course, former Chairman of the Wills Eye Institutional Review Board, and prior Director of the Wills Eye Retina Fellowship.

Fellows are encouraged to submit a research paper manuscript for the coveted Retina Fellows Forum Research Award. This award is presented for outstanding original research by a senior fellow. The winner will be invited to present their work as a specially recognized paper at the 45^th Annual ASRS Meeting, July 28-31, 2027, in San Francisco, California. This award includes complimentary meeting registration, a guaranteed podium presentation, and an unrestricted $1,500 travel grant.
