Summary - 15th Annual Mass Eye and Ear Vitrectomy Course

The Mass Eye and Ear Vitrectomy Course for first-year retina fellows, beginning July 2025, in a traditional US-based fellowship, is a unique, comprehensive workshop that covers the theory and practice of vitreoretinal surgery. This 2-day course will be held in Boston, MA at The Wyndham Boston Beacon Hill on Friday, July 11 and Mass Eye and Ear on Saturday, July 12. With space for up to 60 surgical vitreoretinal fellows and 45 retina faculty, the course offers first-year retina fellows from across the U.S. an intensive and comprehensive introduction to vitreoretinal surgery, which is intended to ensure the best preparation for their fellowship. The course includes lectures on surgical pearls, hands-on wet lab exposure to the basics of retina surgery, case panels and case discussions, simulator practice, practice with clinic-based procedures, and small group career panel discussions.
