About the Event
The Retina Fellows Forum was the first program created just for fellows and is the longest-running retina fellows educational meeting in the world. Join us for the 26th Annual Retina Fellows Forum and add your name to the list of over 1700 alumni of this unforgettable experience!
North American vitreoretinal fellows who will complete their final year of training in a two-year surgical retina training program in 2026 are invited to spend a weekend with world-class faculty who dedicate their time to teach, mentor, and socialize with the graduating vitreoretinal class of 2026.
Meeting registration fees, meeting meals, and shared lodging will be covered and each attendee will be reimbursed up to $500 in travel expenses (ground and air). To guarantee a spot, register by January 8, 2026. After January 8, 2026, new registrants will be accepted based on availability.
The Retina Fellows Forum provides an opportunity for senior surgical retina fellows to gather in a collegial environment to discuss medical and surgical issues, practice management, and career issues in an open and friendly atmosphere. A combination of interactive case presentations, and panel discussions facilitate active participation between course faculty and fellows. The organizers and other members of the faculty are comprised of members of the American Society of Retina Specialists (ASRS).
This year’s Distinguished Guest Speaker is Dean Eliott, MD, FASRS. Director, Emeritus, of the Mass Eye and Ear Retina Service, Dr. Dean Eliott is a gifted vitreoretinal surgeon and sought by colleagues for difficult surgical cases. He is especially interested in treating retinal detachment, diabetic retinopathy, non-diabetic retinal vascular disease, trauma, and complex surgical problems.
Fellows are encouraged to submit an optional case presentation for consideration on the program. If interested, send us a brief (up to a 150-word) summary describing the case. A formal abstract is not necessary. Applicants must complete their meeting registration to receive a link to submit a case for consideration on the program. More instructions are available on the Awards tab. The case submission deadline is November 24, 2025.
Fellows are particularly encouraged to submit a research paper manuscript for the coveted Retina Fellows Forum Research Award. This award is presented for outstanding original research by a senior fellow. The winner will be invited to present their work as a specially recognized paper at the 44th Annual ASRS Meeting, July 15-18, 2026, in Montreal, Canada. This award includes complimentary meeting registration, a guaranteed podium presentation, and an unrestricted $1,500 travel grant. The winner will be announced at the 26th Annual Retina Fellows Forum Meeting. Submission instructions are available on the Awards tab. The deadline to submit your abstract is Monday, January 12, 2026.
